This section includes information on USAID gender-related training, tools, and resources to support attention to gender equality and women’s empowerment across the program cycle, including for critical tasks such as conducting gender analyses and monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes.
Training
USAID offers training on gender equality and women’s empowerment for both the USAID workforce and implementing partners. There are two courses available for implementing partners; the first is the publicly available self-paced Gender 101 course. The second is a live, instructor-led course that Missions can provide to their implementing partners—“Gender Integration for Implementing Partners”—offered by request.
More information about each course:
Gender 101: Gender Equality at USAID
Gender 101 is a learning journey toward gender equality and women’s empowerment. It includes an overview of the strategic objectives, guiding principles, and operational and programmatic requirements outlined in USAID’s 2023 Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Policy. By the end of the course, you will be able to speak to the critical role of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the success of USAID programming and to the ways you can advance these efforts in your own work.
Gender Integration for Implementing Partners
Gender Integration for Implementing Partners supports USAID’s implementing partners to integrate attention to gender equality and women’s empowerment, including gender-based violence prevention and response, into their programs. This course is delivered as a semi-blended learning program, with follow-on mentoring by a Gender Advisor and/or relevant COR available to participants.
