Holistic menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) interventions require multi-sectoral approaches that combine efforts from the health, education, gender, humanitarian protection, and water, sanitation, and hygiene sectors. This brief intends to bridge the gaps created by the siloed sectoral approaches. It outlines key challenges to and opportunities for improving MHH and makes recommendations for how USAID staff and partners can design and implement activities using a holistic MHH approach.
